The YSA June Social: Trivia Night!
Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, YSA will be holding its annual trivia night, on Friday the 11th of June. The night will be full of fun and frivolities, and don't worry, this isn't your teacher's pop quiz, this is the YSA trivia night, where anything can happen. Past trivia rounds have included The Simpsons, Popular Music, the YSA Exec, and much much more.
Prizes will be awarded to the sharpest pencils in the pencil case, so get sharpening! For all the VCE students out there and alike, think of this as a post-exams celebrations night, where you can let your hair down and party with your favourite YSA buddies, at a supervised venue within the inner city of Melbourne. Additionally, this is one of the very few socials to be held at night time, and to NOT commence at 11am under the clocks, another reason not to miss out!
When: Friday the 11th of June, with a 6:30pm arrival time at the venue. Alternatively there will be a small team assembled under the clocks at 6:00, for those who find it hard to break the habit. Where: We'll be occupying the upstairs function room of Little Italy Pasta House, 143-145 Lygon Street, Carlton.
What: YSA Trivia night of course, consisting of several rounds which will test both your academic and cultural knowledge (mostly the latter though). You'll be in teams of around 4 or 5 and be fighting to prove yourselves as the most trivial of teams. Additionally, throughout the evening we shall be dining on the best that Italian cuisine has to offer, including a mix of pizzas and pastas, so be ready for a good feeding. IMPORTANT: In your RSVP please advise us of any special dietary requirements, including food allergies and any other things we should be aware of. Just for catering's sake, please also advise us if you are a vegetarian so we can ensure we have enough vego food. Cost: Twenty dollars gets you a spot in the competition, as well as plenty of food and beverage to last you the night.
There will be prizes for the winners, and possibly some bonus prizes up for grabs along the way. As with all YSA events, there will be a zero alcohol policy for Trivia Night, which applies for all members.
Finally, due to a venue upgrade, this year we can take up to 100 participants. Woo! Go YSA! However, with such huge numbers, it is vital that you RSVP before the cut off date, this being Sunday the 6th of June. The change of venue also makes Trivia Night the perfect opportunity to invite your friends to their first YSA event (or their 20th event for older members like me). So start organising car pools, public transport parties, or cyclist routes so that everyone can enjoy what will be a fantastic evening for all in attendance.
